The Korea Forest Service has begun the phased opening of the Dongseo Trail, an ambitious 849-kilometer trekking route that traverses the Korean Peninsula from east to west. Inspired by Spain’s Camino de Santiago, the trail is designed to connect the western coastal island of Anmyeondo in Taean to the eastern coastal city of Uljin.

South Korea Sets All-Time Monthly Tourism Record with 2 Million Arrivals in March 2026

South Korea welcomed approximately 2 million international visitors in March 2026, according to data from the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) -- the highest single-month tourist arrival total the country has recorded. The figure represents a 47 percent increase over the same month in the previous year and reflects a convergence of several factors: the BTS group comeback concert in Seoul, early cherry blossom season, and continued global demand for Korean cultural experiences.
