Hello!
I am offering violin/viola/ukulele lessons online. I have been teaching in both the US and Korea for more than 25 years including university prep, afterschool programs, and music academies. I have a lot of experience in teaching students in all ages and levels. I have Masters and PhD in music. By the way beginners, you are extremely welcome!!! cause I can teach not only how to play the instrument but also note reading. You're in good hands! :) I am an open-minded, outgoing person and am very passionate about teaching.
I put a heavy emphasis on building a community where my students get to know and give support to each other. We also give 2 recitals per year in the summer as well as winter. I also have the instrument rental option.

Books to Read in 2024
Here is the Amazon link for three books, which took me about ten years to write, and all of which I published in 2023. My two short story collections would make great additions to your 2024 reading list. The titles are, Adoration of the Korean: Expatriate Tales Made in Korea, and For the Love of Time: Tales From Home and Abroad. Fiction, quasi-fiction, and creative non-fiction are all intertwined in these stories inspired by both life in my hometown of Chicago and its suburbs, and my experiences living overseas for fourteen years. There is also a book of essays of political theory and literary criticism written in the distinctive tradition of writing I acquired during my graduate studies at The University of Chicago. The title is, Theory and Criticism in the Chicago Tradition: Ten Essays Composed Abroad. Hi, my name is Richard Whitaker and I am a native teacher from San Diego, California. I have been teaching for almost 13 years. My first teaching job was a, "How to draw comic books," class at San Diego High School. After that I wanted to travel the world and experience different cultures so I came to the Philippines and started to teach English. During this magical time, I have had the luxury of meeting and teaching students from all over the world. To include just some of the countries I have taught to would be: Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Russia, Brazil, Denmark, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Libya, and a few others.
Even though I am a certified TEFL teacher, I can still consider myself to still be a student. One of the rewards is to always be able to learn about culture and appreciate the different views people have upon the world. The other major benefit I receive from teaching is the magnificent feeling of constant forward progression of the student’s English level.
I am very confident to teach English to anyone virtually upon any level. Main reason being that I have taught children’s English, business English, job and college interviews as well as KET, PET, FCE, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and BEC.
